What Is a Schema Markup Generator?
Schema markup is a small block of code that labels the facts on your page: the price of a product, the author of an article or the opening hours of a shop. Search engines use these labels to understand your content and, for some types, to show rich results like star ratings, prices or event dates. Writing this code by hand is easy to get wrong. One missing comma breaks it. A generator builds it for you with the right structure every time.
- Creates JSON-LD, the format Google recommends
- 10 schema types, plus 20+ sub types like BlogPosting and Restaurant
- Uses the official schema.org vocabulary
- Shows which required fields are still missing
- 100% free, no account, no daily limit
- Runs in your browser, nothing is sent to our server
How to Use the Schema Markup Generator
Choose a schema type
Fill in the form
Check the live code
Copy or download
Add it to your page and test it
Where to paste the code
Paste the full <script type="application/ld+json"> block in the <head> or the <body> of your page. Google reads it in both places.
- WordPress: use a header and footer code plugin, the custom schema option in your SEO plugin, or an HTML widget on that page.
- Elementor: add an HTML widget to the page, or use Custom Code in Elementor Pro.
- Shopify: add it to the right template in your theme code.
- Plain HTML: paste it before the closing
</head>tag.
Only add schema to the page it describes. Product schema goes on the product page, not on your home page.

How the Schema Markup Generator Works
- 01
You pick a type
The form shows only the fields that type uses. Every field comes from schema.org and Google's documentation for that rich result.
In your browser - 02
Your input is cleaned
Extra spaces are removed, one-per-line fields become lists, and empty fields are skipped, so the code never has blank values.
In your browser - 03
Fields are mapped to properties
Each field has a fixed schema.org path, like offers.price. Nested parts get their own type, such as Offer, Brand, PostalAddress or Place.
In your browser - 04
Values are formatted
Dates, times, prices, video lengths and stock status are turned into the exact formats Google expects. See the rules below.
In your browser - 05
Required fields are checked
The tool compares your form with the required fields for that type and shows a "Still needed" list until everything is filled.
In your browser - 06
Clean JSON-LD is built
The code puts @context and @type first, uses 2-space indents and is wrapped in a script tag if you want. Nothing is sent to a server.
In your browser
| You type | The tool writes | Rule |
|---|---|---|
4:35 | PT4M35S | Video length in ISO 8601 duration format |
1:02:03 | PT1H2M3S | Hours, minutes and seconds |
$1,299.9 | "1299.90" | Price: keep digits and the dot, round to 2 decimals |
| In stock | https://schema.org/InStock | Fixed values use the full schema.org URL |
| Mon to Fri, 09:00 to 17:00 | ["Monday", ... "Friday"] | Day ranges become a list of day names |
| Nov 14, 2026, 8:00 AM | 2026-11-14T08:00:00+05:00 | Event times in ISO 8601 with your time zone |
| Two image URLs on two lines | ["url-1", "url-2"] | One line is text, more lines become a list |
4.6 | 4.6 | Ratings and map points are numbers, not text |
Duration formula: total seconds = hours × 3600 + minutes × 60 + seconds. The tool then writes PT + hours + H + minutes + M + seconds + S, and leaves out any part that is zero.

</script>Is the Schema Markup Generator Accurate?
- The code is valid JSON
- Every type, property and fixed value exists in schema.org (version 29.3)

- Every value matches an expected answer we built separately from the tool
- Google's required properties are there when the form is complete
- The "Still needed" warning shows when a required field is empty (80 cases)
- Hard input works: quotes, HTML, emoji, Urdu, Japanese, very long text and extra spaces
Accuracy in plain words
- Date: October 11, 2026
- Tool version: 1.0.1
- Method: the real tool was filled in automatically in a Chromium browser, 100 complete forms per schema type with random real-world values, plus 80 forms with a required field left empty
- Rules used: the schema.org vocabulary file and Google’s required properties for each rich result
Our first run on version 1.0.0 passed 330 of 340 cases (97.1%) and found 3 bugs. We fixed them the same day. You can see them in the update log below.

Limitations of This Tool
- It cannot promise rich results. Google decides what to show.
- It covers 10 common types, not all 900+ types in schema.org.
- It cannot check that your code matches what is visible on your page. Google requires this.
- It does not test your live URL. Use a validator after you publish.
- It makes one schema type at a time. To use two, add two code blocks.
- It cannot check that ratings or reviews are real. Only add real ones.
- Use real details that people can see on the page
- Fill in recommended fields too, not just required ones
- Test the live page in Google's Rich Results Test
- Check the Enhancements reports in Google Search Console
- Update the code when prices, dates or hours change

Schema Markup Generator FAQ
What is a schema markup generator?
A schema markup generator is a tool that creates structured data code for your web page. You fill in a simple form and it writes JSON-LD code using the schema.org vocabulary, ready to paste into your page.
Is this schema generator free?
Yes. The SpellMistake Schema Markup Generator is 100% free, with no sign-up and no daily limit.
Does schema markup help SEO?
Schema markup is not a direct ranking factor, but it helps search engines understand your page. For some types, it can unlock rich results like prices, ratings and event dates, which can help more people click on your page.
Where should I add schema markup on my page?
Paste the JSON-LD script block in the head or the body of the page it describes. Google reads it in both places. Only add schema that matches what people can see on that page.
How do I add schema markup in WordPress?
Copy the code from the generator, then add it with a header and footer code plugin, the custom schema option in your SEO plugin, or an HTML widget in Elementor or the block editor on that page.
What is JSON-LD and why should I use it?
JSON-LD is a way to write structured data as a separate script, so it does not change your page design. Google recommends JSON-LD because it is easy to add and easy to maintain.
How do I test my schema markup?
After you publish the page, test the URL in Google's Rich Results Test to see if it is eligible for rich results, and in the Schema Markup Validator to check the schema.org code. You can also use our free Schema Markup Validator, linked in the related tools below.
Can I use more than one schema type on a page?
Yes. For example, a blog post can have Article and Breadcrumb schema. Create each type in the generator and add each code block to the page.
Does FAQ schema still work in 2026?
Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in May 2026, so FAQ schema no longer adds the dropdown questions in Google. The markup is still valid schema.org code, and Google says unused structured data does not cause problems.
Why does Google not show rich results for my page?
Valid code does not guarantee a rich result. Google may skip it if the content is not visible on the page, if required fields are missing, if the page is new or not indexed, or if Google decides a rich result is not useful for that search.
Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
No. The generator runs in your browser. Your form is only saved in your own browser so you can come back to it. We never see or store what you type.
