What Is a Backlink Price Calculator?

Short answer
A backlink price calculator estimates how much a link from a website should cost. It looks at the site’s authority, its real traffic, where its visitors live, the niche and the type of link, then gives you a low, fair and high price so you can spot overpriced offers.

Link prices vary wildly. Two sites with the same Domain Rating can ask $50 or $500. Many high-DR sites have little real traffic, which is a sign their links are worth less. This calculator puts the main price factors into one open formula and flags common warning signs, so you can negotiate with real numbers.

How the Backlink Price Calculator Works

Here is the exact pricing formula.
  1. 01

    Base price from DR

    Base = $25 × e^(0.0405 × DR). DR 30 gives about $85, DR 60 about $283.

    In your browser
  2. 02

    Traffic factor

    Traffic factor = 0.5 + log10(traffic + 1) ÷ 5 × 0.8, kept between 0.5 and 1.4.

    In your browser
  3. 03

    Other factors

Audience, niche, link type, placement and duration each multiply the price.

    In your browser
  4. 04

    Price range

Low = 75% of fair, high = 135% of fair, rounded to $5.

  5. 05

    Red flags

For example, a site with DR 30+ but traffic under DR × 25 is flagged.

The Full Formula

Every price is worked out the same way.

Fair price = Base (from DR) × Traffic factor × Audience × Niche × Link type × Placement × Duration.

If the site writes the article for you, a writing fee of about $0.04 per word is added (between $20 and $400). The tool also shows the price per 1,000 monthly visitors, a quick way to compare offers.

Accuracy in plain words

Buying links that pass ranking value is against Google’s spam policies. Paid links should be marked rel=”sponsored”.

Backlink Price Calculator FAQ

Quick answers to the questions people ask most about this tool.

How much does a backlink cost?

It varies a lot, from about $50 to $1,000 or more. Domain Rating, real traffic, audience country and niche matter most.

Is this backlink price calculator free?

Yes. It is 100% free, with no sign-up.

Is buying backlinks allowed by Google?

Buying links to pass ranking value is against Google's spam policies. Paid or sponsored links should use rel="sponsored".

Why does traffic matter more than DR?

DR can be high on sites with little real traffic. Real organic traffic shows Google trusts the site and that people actually visit.

What is a red flag?

A sign a link may not be worth the price, like a high DR with very little traffic, or a high price per 1,000 visitors.

Why is a homepage link priced per month?

Homepage and sidebar links are usually rented, so sellers charge a monthly fee.

Where do I get DR and traffic?

From Ahrefs or a similar SEO tool. This tool can also look up Domain Rating by Ahrefs if it is set up.
