What Happens After You Report a Bug

  1. 01

    We receive your report

Your report goes to our developer and is saved, so nothing gets lost.

  2. 02

    We reproduce the problem

We run the tool with the same input to see the bug for ourselves.

  3. 03

We fix it as a high priority

Confirmed bugs go to the top of our list, ahead of new features.

  4. 04

    We test the fix

Every fix is tested again with our test cases before it goes live.

  5. 05

    We let you know

We email you when the fix is live, so you can try the tool again.

Before You Report: Quick Fixes

Many problems can be fixed in a few seconds. Please try these first:

  • Refresh the page and run the tool again.
  • Check the URL. Make sure it starts with https:// and that the page is public, not behind a login.
  • Wait a minute. If you see a “Too many checks” message, you reached the fair use limit. Try again shortly or tomorrow.
  • Try another browser or turn off browser extensions such as ad blockers for this site.
  • Clear your cache if the page looks broken or out of date.

How We Prioritize Reports

Every confirmed bug is fixed as a high priority, ahead of new features. Within that, we fix the most serious problems first:

  1. Security problems, handled first and in private.
  2. Wrong results that could mislead users.
  3. Tools that do not work at all, such as errors or blank pages.
  4. Small problems, such as layout issues or typos.

Feature requests are reviewed in our monthly planning, and the most requested ideas are built first.

Security Problems

Please do not report security problems with this form. Email hello@spellmistake.com with “Security report” in the subject, and read our Security page for how we handle them.

Your Privacy

We only use the details in your report to fix the problem and reply to you. Please do not include passwords or private information. See our Privacy Policy for more.

Bug Report FAQ

Short answers to the questions we hear most. Still not sure? Ask us in the form below.

How fast do you fix bugs?

Every report is checked by our developer and confirmed bugs are fixed as a high priority, ahead of new features. Each fix is tested before release, and we email you when it is live.

Do I need an account to report a bug?

No. Just add your name and email so we can reply, and describe the problem.

A tool gave a result I think is wrong. Is that a bug?

Yes, please report it. Share what you entered and the result you got. We compare it with our test cases and the official source, and fix it if it is wrong.

Can I report a mistake in a blog post?

Yes. Choose Problem on a page, add the page URL and tell us what is wrong. We follow our Corrections Policy to fix it.

Can I request a new tool?

Yes. Choose Request a new tool and describe the task it should do. We build the most requested tools first.
