What Is a Page Rank Checker?

Short answer
A page rank checker shows how strong a website’s link profile is. Google’s own PageRank toolbar score was retired years ago, so this tool uses Open PageRank, a free score from 0 to 10 built from open web link data. A higher score means more links from other well-linked sites.

Authority scores help you compare websites quickly: for link building, buying a domain or sizing up competitors. Open PageRank works much like Google’s original PageRank idea, where links from strong sites count more. It is free and open, so you can check up to 100 domains at once without a paid SEO tool.

Quick facts
> how --to

How to Use the Page Rank Checker

Check authority for a list of sites in seconds.
01

Enter domains

Type one domain, or paste up to 100, one per line.
02

Run the check

The tool asks Open PageRank for each domain.
03

Read the scores

See each domain’s score from 0 to 10 and its global rank.
04

Sort the list

Sort by score to find the strongest sites.
05

Copy or export

Copy the results or download them as CSV.

Use authority scores wisely

  • Compare sites in the same niche, not across very different ones.
  • Check real traffic too, a score alone can mislead.
  • Use more than one metric, like Domain Rating by Ahrefs.
  • Relevance matters more than a high score for link building.

Open PageRank Scores Explained

What each score range means.
ScoreWhat it means
Under 2: Starting outVery few links from other sites so far
2 to 3.9: GrowingSome links from other sites. Keep earning links from relevant sites.
4 to 5.9: SolidA healthy link profile for a small or mid-size site
6 to 7.9: StrongA strong, well linked website
8 to 10: Very strongAmong the most linked websites on the web
The scale is logarithmic, so moving from 6 to 7 is much harder than from 2 to 3.

How PageRank Works

The idea behind the score.

PageRank treats a link as a vote. A vote from a site that itself has many votes counts more. The scores are run many times across the whole link graph until they settle, then put on a 0 to 10 scale.

Open PageRank uses open link data, so it can differ from Google’s private ranking data and from paid tools like Ahrefs Domain Rating.

Is the Page Rank Checker Accurate?

The scores are exactly what the Open PageRank API returns. They are a fair, free authority guide, but they are not Google’s own PageRank, which Google keeps private.

Accuracy in plain words

Open PageRank updates on its own schedule, so new links can take time to show. New or very small sites may have no score yet.

Keep in mind
No third-party score is used by Google. Use authority scores to compare sites, not to predict rankings.

Page Rank Checker FAQ

Quick answers to the questions people ask most about this tool.

What is PageRank?

PageRank is a way to measure how important a page or site is, based on the links pointing to it. Links from important sites count more.

Is this page rank checker free?

Yes. It is 100% free, with no sign-up.

Can I see Google PageRank?

No. Google stopped showing PageRank publicly in 2016. This tool uses Open PageRank, a free score built in a similar way.

What is a good Open PageRank score?

4 to 5.9 is solid for a small or mid-size site. 6 and above is strong.

How many domains can I check?

Up to 100 domains at once.

Is Open PageRank the same as Domain Rating?

No. Both measure link strength, but they use different link data and formulas, so scores differ.

Does a higher score mean higher rankings?

Not on its own. Google uses many signals. Use the score to compare sites, not to predict rankings.
