What Is a Domain Age Checker?
People check domain age to judge a website before buying links, buying the domain or trusting a seller. An old domain often means an established business, but it is not a ranking factor on its own. Google has said that domain age does not directly help rankings. What matters is the history and quality of the site.
- Domain age in years and days
- Registered, updated and expiry dates
- Registrar and name servers
- Lock status and DNSSEC

RDAP vs WHOIS
RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the official replacement for WHOIS. It returns clean, structured data from the registry, so dates and statuses are reliable. ICANN requires registries and registrars of generic domains like .com to support RDAP.
Some country domains, like many ccTLDs, do not offer RDAP yet. For those, the tool tells you no data was found.
Is the Domain Age Checker Accurate?
- Dates match the registry RDAP record
- Ages are counted correctly
- Status codes are explained correctly
- Bulk checks of 20 domains work
- Domain endings without RDAP show a clear message
Accuracy in plain words
Domain age is the age of the current registration. If a domain expired and was registered again, the age starts from the new date, even if the name was used before. Use our Wayback History Checker to see older history.
